What is a Medical Assistant? A Medial Assistant is the first person you see when you walk back into the Dr's office. They greet patients, take their vital signs, record their medications and complaints, set up patient examination rooms for specific types of examinations, and recognize infection.
Medical Assistants learn to assist physicians with physical exams and minor surgical procedures, electrocardiograms, administration of medication and laboratory procedures, including blood withdrawal, urinalysis, and specimen collection.
